I review recent progress on the study of a quasi-parton distribution function, which is composed of an equal-time correlator in the large momentum limit. This new definition is motivated by a direct calculation of a parton distribution function on Euclidean lattice. Its limitation due to the existence of a linear ultraviolet divergence and a possible improvement by modifying its Wilson links are highlighted.
